Following constitute my arguments in favour of such a venture :
-There is a market.
-Publishing houses have the technology and capacity to spare.
-They have marketing teams.
- Paid editorial staff will have pressure to create content that is competitive, and sells.
-Readers have no hesitation in buying newspapers and journals from reputed publishers who they have been patronising for years.
- Good quality journals from paid journalists shall weed out mediocrity from mushrooming low-quality journals that finds no takers, myself included.
- Even if established newspapers lose some customers to Maithili, still in the long term it is a win-win situation for all; Maithili shall gain in quality, and papers a larger rural customer-base. For sure, customers of English editions will continue to read what they read.
